NHW Newsletter September 2011

Neighbourhood Watch Newsletter - Kisle News September 2011

Village news - I am very pleased to report that my name sake, Tim Ward, who lives in Millers Close, has volunteered to be the Street Representative for that Street. He will soon be calling on Residents in Millers Close to hand out Door Stickers and Leaflets.  Please give him all the support you can in making Millers Close a safe street.
There are still streets which do not have Street Representatives (Ashby Close, and Bugbrooke Road) and in my mind these streets are more vulnerable as there is no obvious NHW presence. Please contact me (telephone number and email address below) if you wish to volunteer to be the Street Representative for your street. This is not hard work, but it does help to make your neighbourhood more secure. Please see the Village Web site for the full list of Street Representatives at http://nhw.kislingburyonline.co.uk/2010/09/street-representatives.html.

Please remember to be careful about leaving Doors and Windows open. It only takes seconds for a thief to enter a house, snatch valuables, and be out again if the windows and doors are not locked. Keep your valuables, house keys, and car keys out of sight of Windows or Letter Flaps as it is easy to "fish" them out. Please also remember that even if a Caller to a house appears to be genuine the Police still want to check them. Please call me or the Police on the number shown below to report anyone calling on you without an appointment.

We are still seeing relatively few crimes in our Village and Region and I hope this continues. We need to be vigilant, and be sure to challenge anyone who looks suspicious. The reports that I have been getting from the Police concern mainly thefts from Farms of metal and machinery. Whilst this does not directly effect Village life we should still be aware that criminals seem to be targeting Farms and Businesses

We have had a few crimes reported in the Village in the last Month. I show these below. For Police Crime Reports please Visit the NHW News Page on the Village Web site http://nhw.kislingburyonline.co.uk/
